Measuring your Italian Greyhound (Iggy) correctly is essential for getting a perfect fit when purchasing dog clothes. Their slender bodies and unique shapes require specific measurements to avoid uncomfortable or poor fitting attire. Follow these four simple steps to get accurate measurements and keep your Iggy stylish and comfortable for your Little Milo's Closet order.

See the steps below to get started, and then watch the video!

Fun fact: We call a large Italian Greyhound a Biggy-Iggy!

Little Milos Closet Neck Measurement

Step 1

Measure the Neck Start by measuring the circumference of your Iggy’s neck. Use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around the base of the neck, where a collar would naturally sit. Be sure not to pull the tape too tight—you want the measurement to be snug but comfortable.

Key Tip: Measure where your dog's collar would naturally rest.

Little Milos Closet Chest Measurement

Step 2

Measure the Chest Next, measure the widest part of your Iggy’s chest. This is typically just behind the front legs. Ensure your dog is standing up straight, and wrap the tape around the chest, bringing it to meet at the top of their back.

Key Tip: If your Iggy is wiggly, having a helper will help!

Little Milos Closet Back Measurement

Step 3

Measure the Back Length Now, measure the length of your Iggy’s back. Start from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) and measure down to the base of the tail. Make sure your Iggy is standing in a natural position to get the most accurate measurement.

Key Tip: Avoid measuring too far down the tail; you don't want the top hanging off your Iggy.

Little Milos Closet Leg Measurement

Step 4

Finally, measure the leg length This is particularly important for sleeved tops and full-body outfits. Start just at the top of the back between the shoulder blades and measure down to the ankle.

Key Tip: Leg length alone does not determine the overall size of your pup.

With these four measurements — neck, chest, back length, and leg length — you’ll be well on your way to finding the perfect fit for your Iggy.

Always double-check your measurements before ordering, and consult the size chart from Little Milo's Closet. Happy shopping!
